How it all began

Born in Norway, Tine B. Mansfeldt had worked in international management positions around Europe, before arriving in Switzerland as an expat.
Whilst working in Geneva and Zürich, she fell in love with the Swiss Alps, most of all, Zermatt.

 

With a zeal for interior design Tine especially loved working with textiles, and decided to pursue her passion to set up her own business.

Looking to bring something new to the Swiss ski resort she now called home, she opened her first interiors boutique in the picturesque town of Zermatt, high in the Swiss mountains that border Italy.

 

Now it was time to introduce Nordic and Scandi design to meet the Alpine chalet chic so familiar and abundant in the resort.

Destination Home was launched in 2012 and over the years, Tine’s style has drawn on the beauty of her natural surroundings and both the traditional and contemporary features that complement the alpine chalets in and around Zermatt.

Working with artisans, local crafts people and a close knit network of manufacturers, Tine soon developed Destination Home’s own brand of products and exclusive pieces you won’t find anywhere else.

 

 

Destination Home Zermatt

In 2023 we decided to take Destination Home online, so that everyone can take a piece of the mountains home, even if they’ve never visited Zermatt!

Our online store features Tine’s curated collections, including unique homewares designed by Tine, and exclusively available from Destination Home Zermatt

In 2024 Tine decided she wanted to focus entirely on her own collections and decided to close the physical store in Zermatt.
